Samsung has always been a great innovator in the trade of mobile phones. Today, the new Galaxy Note 8 it’s going to debut on the market as the next big game changer.

The Note series has a tremendous past due to the Galaxy Note 7’s explosion issue, but hopefully, Samsung fixed the problem without too many difficulties.

A new phone, especially if it’s part of the same category of smartphone crafted for productivity, marks a new beginning for the company.

But that’s not all. The problem wasn’t how to fix an issue, it was about how to make an effective change. And that’s what Samsung has done, a phone made for versatility and productivity.

Galaxy Note 8, a story written by the S-Pen

That’s a fact and Samsung knows it!

The power of a pen inside the body of a Smartphone made the difference, this was the change that powered and inspired many of the artists out here.

Pen-Up it the name of the application that made possible for all creative users to use drawing as the international way of communicating.

In fact is that today more than 2 million of artists are active and sharing their art, that’s why Sammy is proud of the Note series and says that it was inspired by users.

The S-Pen

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the S-Pen is improved: it has more pressure sensitivity, now 4096 levels, more precision thanks to the 0,7mm rubber tip, it’s still water resistant like the rest of the phone and also has a completely new set of features.

Live Message with GIFs

You will be able to text to your friend with glow animated drawings. This feature converts your art into GIFs so it’s compatible with every chat application.

Screen Off Memo improves

Thanks to this idea, firstly introduced with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, it’s possible to take note even when the screen is off. It’s like writing on a blackboard with your S-Pen.

The new feature introduces the possibility to write pages and pages of notes, to do list and much more and set them as an Always On Display’s reminder.

Design that matter, 6.3-inch display in a super compact body

This phone is huge but it was designed to fit in your hand without any compromise. In order to made it possible the company placed a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super Amoled HDR10 18.5:9 edge infinity display inside the body of the phone and reduced the bezels to the minimum.

The result is a phone with big capabilities in a small aluminum and glass chassis.

But that’s not all because there are also different changes concerning the style of the device.

Samsung said that the Note 8 will be available in the all-new Deepsea Blue, as well as Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Maple Gold.

Dual Camera for the first time

The device now sports for the first time on a Galaxy phone, a dual camera system. That’s a great news because the two twelve 12 MP sensor comes both with OIS so expect to take crisp images even when the stabilization conditions aren’t optimal.

The lens inside the cameras manages to capture images respectively: one using the wide angle mode and one with a 2x optical zoom.

It works as an LG G6 and Apple Iphone 7 Plus at the same time, great job Samsung.

An enhanced camera software also provides a real time focus selection that could be modified even after the shot.

Hardware that challenges competitors

As usual, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will come with different hardware details for different markets. The international version will be the one with the Exynos 8895 processor while the other is going to be sold with the Snapdragon 835.

They are both two valid options considered that this is the same hardware available on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

The great news is that the Note 8 will be sold with 6GB of LPDDR4 Ram overtaking the 4GB of memory inside the S8.

Other specs: battery, uhm… a bit too small?

In order to be sure that the battery won’t explode Samsung placed a smaller cell inside the phone. It now has a 3300 mAh battery and it’s a bit small considering that the Galaxy S8+ has a capacity 3500 mAh with a 6.2-inch panel.

Because of the optimized power consumption and the 10nm process of the processor, only the time will tell us if the Note 8 will survive for an entire day of usage.

Availability and prices

This phone will be really expensive: 930$ for US markets, £870 for UK and 999€ for most of the EU.

Obviously, the price will change if you buy the phone with different carrier and the price drop could be considerable after the launch.

The pre-orders of the phone will start on Thursday, August 24th. The distribution is set for September 15th, 2017.
